PERSONAL INTRODUCTION
Paul Weig has twenty years experience as a practicing attorney. He has practiced Consumer Law and Bankruptcy Law for the past decade. He works primarily out of the Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis locations.
Since joining Walker & Walker, Paul has worked on addressing abusive practices by mortgage servicing companies by using the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act- (RESPA). His most recent notable court victory is in the Bakko v. Quicken Loans, case. Paul brought this case because a mortgage company was trying to add unnecessary fees to someone’s mortgage for a reaffirmation agreement. At present that case has survived a motion for judgment on the pleadings, and is going on to discovery.
Paul is attracted to bankruptcy law and fixing mortgage problems for people through RESPA because these practice areas allow him to help the little guy. He gets to stand up for people who don’t have very much money and make sure that they are treated fairly and get their day in court.
